FAQ
Who
could need these systems?
-The
Alberta Government requires every diesel engine that operates in or near oil and
gas sites to be equipped with an adequate air intake shut-off valve, equipped
with a remote control and until now there has been no system that fully complies
with this mandate.
- If there is a problem when trucks are pumping fuel or other materials,
hundreds of dollars of materials can be spilled if the engine is not shutdown
immediately, not to mention the environmental costs and damages.
- In case of a gas leak or other emergency situation, lives could be saved if
all diesel engines in an area could be shut down remotely by a site supervisor.
The remote should continue to broadcast a signal so other equipment entering the
area would be shutdown.
- When current engine shut down systems are triggered, operators have no way
of determining why and they are very difficult to reset. This can cost operators
thousands of dollars on towing costs.
- Most current engine shutdown systems can load the engines with fuel when
shutting them down. This can damage the engine when trying to restart it.
-Truck and trailer theft is on the rise and can cost companies millions of
dollars. Some companies are even having problems getting insurance.
Valves should be certified every year and current shut down systems cannot be
tested properly.
How
does the Diesel Valve work?
The DTI Valve
fits on the air intake of any diesel engine. It is designed to shut the engine
off by blocking its air intake in case it reaches a dangerously high RPM, or low
voltage. DTI Patented Shut-off system allows multiple ways to shut off the
engine and restart with ease. The butterfly design does not load the engine with
fuel during shutdown allowing you to re-start it safely right away.
How
does the GPS work?
The
GPS Module is the component of the system that uses satellites to pin-point the
exact location of the unit. The built-in cellular communicator transmits the
location of the unit to our servers which you can track using any computer with
internet access.
Who
could benefit from these systems?
Anyone who owns or operates a diesel engine.
Oilfield and Mining:
Safety for everyone on sites
Asset protection
Transport:
Safety and asset protection
Protection from theft
Savings from abused assets and wasted employee time
Industrial:
Safety in plant applications
